Is it normal to get sore on the second day after your workout. I NEVER am sore the day after, it always comes the morning of the second day. Is this normal, is it just the way my body responds to the stress? Thanks:p

It doesn't really matter.

I generally am a bit stiff the first day and then sore the 2nd day...everyone has different times...some people barely get sore at all...don't use soreness as a guide to a good workout...

I wasn't using it as a guage for my workouts. I work out as hard as I can eerytime I lift. I was just curious that's all.

Do an Advanced Search on DOMS or Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness.

Delphi is right - it's DOMS, and no one can explain it.

The current accepted theory involvs macrophage activity.

Maybe Cacky can elaborate if he can remember.

when i do squats, it's sore the next day, and PAIN the day after, i can't even walk. but, i do love the results!
if this happens a lot, u may have to adjust ur split. ex. when i do 3 day splits, i can't do deads after leg day. i MUST do deads before leg day, or i can't get deads cuz i'm too sore.
