I'm vurrently taking L-glutamine from GNC- three pills is 1800mgs, so in a day I get 3.6 grams. Is this enough glutamine? I was thinking about breaking down and buying the power which is 5 grams per teaspoon, and there are like 75-80 servings in the damn thing for like 44 bucks.

That's a ripoff. I buy 1000gm of prolab glutamine for like $48. I think you can get 2-600 gram bottles of AST micronized glutamine for like a little over $50. Forget GNC, shop online if you can.

yeah, that won't do anything for you.

take at least 8 grams, more if possible.

The thing with Glutimine is there have been no concrete studies indicating what the optimal dosage or dosages should be.

from experience, 5-10g cuts my soreness up to by 1/3, ie squats normally take 5-6days to have the soreness to go away, but w/ glutamine, it takes 2-3 days. i've heard there was a max u can utilize in a day, so i don't take more than 10g.

If you take too much glutamine in one sitting your liver will detect it and metabolize the lot.

If you take it in small frequent does on an empty stomach you could take 20 gms a day without this happening.

When I am very sore from training(like now!) I take 20 gms a day in 5-6 small doses every few hours along with 4-5 gms of vitamin c daily
