I forgot to introduce myself here before I started posting (oops). I'm female, 22, 5'4, 125lb and 31% bodyfat. While searching around for bodybuilding articles I found this great site and forum and have been checking in regularly.

My goal is to get down to 15% bodyfat first, before aiming for a lower percentage. I used to be a skinny kid involved heavily in track & field and swimming. Just about 3 years ago I was put on heavy medication for depression and I started gaining weight... and my metabolism seems to have slowed down ever since.

I managed to lose a bit of weight recently but have been on a plateau with the bodyfat after going off the meds and being prudent with my diet and working out. Hope to find some advice here :)

This place is great. It is aimed more towards building muscle, but it will still help you with your goals; everyone here is so helpful. Sounds like you know what you're doing anyways; good luck!

To get through the plateau and lose more bodyfat, try either increasing your cardio or decreasing your calories slightly. What you eat is more important than anything else really; aim for non processed foods.

Hi there.

If you've been dieting for a long time your metabolism could have slowed down too much. You may need to eat over maintenance for a while to give it a boost. Post your diet and routine in the relevant forums and I'm sure someone will give you some pointers ;)
