Hey all, new person here.. Heres some info bout me..

Shaun
height: 5'4.5 (im short, and i dont htink im growing anymore :( )
weight: 120
age: 18

Hmm.. I have a HIGH metabolism ( i have a hard time gaining weight) in fact most of the weight i gained (about 10 lbs since i started college maybe a little more) probably is from the beer.. Also i always been told im very muscular, so i guess that's a good thing.

Started going to the gym a little bit in january here at school.. go with a friend who knows what hes doing so im learning a bit.

What i want to do mainly is GAIN weight and mass. Im just going to continue with my routines for now (gym 2 or 3 times a week) but this summer i want to buy a bench at home.

So question about home equipment: What kind should i buy? I dont want to spend too much and i figure ill just need a bench to do some free weight lifting, and some leg workouts (so it will have a leg extension on it). Maybe have one or 2 of the other machines on it (the pull down thing and the chest thing, im no good with names lol)

I would join a gym, but i really dont htink i would get up and go that often, so it being at home i know i will go downstairs and workout quite often..

Thanks all.. Any suggestions are appreciated.. I will also read up on things while i can

Welcome!

There's quite a few threads in bodybuilding/fitness section about people that have recommended or asked questions very similar to yours about home equipment. I don't have any threads right off the bat but if you did a quick search you might something useful.

There's plenty of people here that workout at home and have some equipment. Post up your questions in the bb/fitness section and I'm sure somebody a bit more knowledgeable in that department can help you.

You came to the right place!

First, if you want to gain weight you need to EAT MORE! There's no way around it.

Second, I'd recommend joining a gym instead of buying a bench simply because you'll have more options for exercises in a gym.

Don't worry about being short... there's some short guys around here and some do pretty impressive lifts. And I have the same situation as you with the high-metabolism. Anthony says it right, you gotta eat which I'm gettting the hang of it.

BTW: Welcome to the boards.
